Before i begin, i want you all to know that this is, in fact a head canon, not a shipping. It has almost nothing to do with shipping, but is something i believe after watching the show (brotherhood). If you disagree, i dont care, but don’t troll me because of it. Though i want to hear your opinion, whether it’s positive or negative.
After watching the Brotherhood episode where envy died, i’ve come to this conclusion. Envy is gay. Gluttony having feelings for Lust in both series, and Lust and Scar having somewhat of a relationship in the original proved that Homunculi can have romantic feelings for both humans, and other’s of their kind. So why not Envy?
i read on another Envy RP blog somebody else’s head-canon on Envy’s gender, being that he takes on a form of a cross between both a male and a female; a hermaphrodite of a sort. While i have come to believe this explanation, this applies only for the form that we see envy in majority of the series, the “genderless palmtree” as many would call him. But we must take into consideration of the fact that he has a true form, the little green monster that looks like a chameleon with a vagina-like mouth. His true form must have a gender, right? We can conclude that since he was referred to as a he or perhaps even an it [in the english dub], it is implied that he is male.
now that we have my theory of Envy’s gender established, i can jump to the true reason for this mini essay sort thing, his sexual orientation. ((keep in mind that i support gay rights, and i do not let one’s sexual orientation affect my opinion of them or our relationship)) Before he ripped the life source from his chest, he had a short one on one with edward, (though he tried to direct it at Scar, Roy, and Riza as well) talking about how he envied human’s for multiple reasons. Envy said to edward in episode 54 of brother hood (sub) “What’s worse, of all the scum out there, this scummiest pipsqueak had to be the one…” i know he was referring to the fact that Ed was able to see right through him to his darkest secret, but could it be a double entandre??? i get the impression from this scene that Envy had developed romantic feeling’s towards edward, but He didn’t return the favor because he was heterosexual, in a relationship already, and considered Envy as an enemy and a major threat.
now i dont ship these two, but i believe, though with limited evidence, it could be a valid theory. Thoughts???
